A family favorite holiday cookie pre-GAPS is Cocoons. While I have tried to make a healthier version by converting some of the ingredients, they do still processed sugars. I have to admit, covered with powdered sugar, they melt in your mouth!
So, since this is a recipe from John's mother (who made them only at Christmas ...
One of my favorite cookies pre-GAPS was Angel Wings. While I have tried to make a healthier version by converting some of the ingredients, they do still processed sugars. So, since this is a recipe from John's mother (who made them only at Christmas time), they are a special treat and reserved for the holiday ...
This is a recipe from my mother-in-law which we make every Christmas. They are traditionally a very hard cookie and delicious when enjoyed with a cup of coffee.

I am sure most people have a favored sugar cookie recipe but in case you do not - here is our family's recipe which I obtained from John's mother.

Have you ever had a tea party with your family? If not, you should try it! Even our older boys love it! This is a tradition we started while living in Switzerland. The winters were extremely cold and the warm tea with goodies seem to warm us all. Alright, I know what you are thinking! ...
![]() Date? Husband? Why?
Occasionally, I will plan a date, whether it be an evening or afternoon out or just a movie night for the two of us, without my husband knowing about it. He loves it! I love it! After 25 years of marriage and 10 children, I still love being with my husband. A date ...
We may go overboard with decorating for Christmas but it is so much fun! I think the best part of it all is experiencing it with children. I wish my desires were as simple as theirs. It is a shame we lose the excitement which little things bring as we grow up!

About Me
God has amazingly blessed me, Dina-Marie, with a wonderful husband and 10 beautiful children. Moving from our "secure" life in Alabama to the "exciting" life of starting a vineyard in west Texas has definitely been challenging. Besides frugality, farm life and simple living, I have learned the importance of diet, quality of food and traditional cooking. Through the GAPS diet, I am successfully reversing my rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and food allergies.
I hope to encourage you to make the most of where you are and what you have as I share my life with you.
