If you have been around for awhile, you know that we moved from Alabama a little over 5 years ago. We left a very comfortable lifestyle (thanks to corporate America) to relocate in west Texas and start a vineyard.
Unfortunately, our nearly 5,000 sq ft home about 40 minutes from Mobile was put on the market ...

We have finally gotten back around to work on the greenhouse that we started way back when!
I think we have too many projects going on at the same time! And, when you do the work yourself on all of them, well, it just takes time. I know patience is a virtue but it sure can be hard ...

Last week, after posting Getting Started with REAL Foods, I received several emails with questions about particular steps to take. I also received an encouraging email from a longtime reader, Sara, detailing the steps she took to get started with REAL food after being introduced to Nourishing Traditions. I thought everyone would enjoy hearing her story. Sara ...

You may have noticed that there was no Family Friday post last week. I have a good excuse - I was in Georgia visiting my mother and sister before heading to Alabama to clean the rest of our stuff out the house we had lived in for 20 years before moving to Texas to start ...

For those who know me personally, you will be shocked to learn that I have quit drinking coffee! Yep, ME, a devout coffee drinker whose preferred brewing method has been an Italian automatic coffee maker or a french press has kicked the habit! This is a subject I would not even have discussed because after ...

You may get the impression that I think GAPS is the miracle, cure-all for everyone. And, you would be right - almost! I have had such dramatic results and such a complete turn-around in my health, that it must be for everyone - right? After all, we all think that what we are doing must ...
Being the home educating mother of 10 children, I can not afford to forget anything! Our children range from 3 - 27 years old. With 3 children married and 4 grandchildren (2 of whom are older than our youngest!), I really must maximize my memory. After all, just remembering all the birthdays can ...

A friend cornered me after church Sunday and had a question for me. We had spoken at length on previous occasions about his health problems and how the GAPS diet might benefit him. He also knew that we had done GAPS as a family and now, all but myself are on a traditional, real food ...

As I began seeing significant physical improvement as a direct result of the GAPS diet, I began wondering what was next? The GAPS diet is not intended to be a lifelong way of eating but only for a period of time necessary to heal the gut. If a change in diet had such a dramatic ...
You may have noticed some changes here at Dimes2Vines. These changes are not limited to the appearance of the blog but also include the content.
While I have always considered us to be a healthy family, it was not until I was introduced to the GAPS diet and my results were so amazing with the dietary ...

About Me
God has amazingly blessed me, Dina-Marie, with a wonderful husband and 10 beautiful children. Moving from our "secure" life in Alabama to the "exciting" life of starting a vineyard in west Texas has definitely been challenging. Besides frugality, farm life and simple living, I have learned the importance of diet, quality of food and traditional cooking. Through the GAPS diet, I am successfully reversing my rheumatoid arthritis, osteoporosis and food allergies.
I hope to encourage you to make the most of where you are and what you have as I share my life with you.
