Carrot Superfood Juicing Recipe is packed with nutrition but still not only tastes great, it is delicious! My Carrot Juice Recipes page gives you plenty of info and answers your questions.

Have you ever wondered why some foods are super and others are not? Me too.

In fact, you can get my FREE ebook, 20 Must Have Superfoods by joining Cultured Palate's email club. You will also gain access to my library filled with other healthy living resources - all FREE!

    What Makes a Superfood?

Superfoods are foods that are high in nutrients that your body needs. From photochemicals that are important for your immune system in helping fight disease to vitamins, antioxidants and minerals.

Why is This a Carrot Superfood Juicing Recipe?

Carrots are themselves a food that is loaded with nutritional value.

You can check out my Carrot Juice Recipes page for in-depth reasons you should be adding carrots to your menu, as well as, other delicious carrot juice recipes.

    1. Aids in digestion

But, what makes this juicing recipe special is the turmeric and ginger it contains. Did you know that turmeric and ginger are related?

They are known for their help with digestion. Together they can help reduce gas, bloating, and other digestive problems. But, the roots do have a strong taste that some have problems stomaching.

This recipe combines the turmeric and ginger with carrots, apples and oranges for a delicious drink that is good for you.

    2. Turmeric contains Curcumin

Turmeric contains curcumin which has been proven to help prevent heart disease, Alzheimer's and cancer. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and may also help improve symptoms of depression and arthritis. (1)

The oranges also provide a vitamin C boost which is a powerful antioxidant and important for your immune system.

    3. Ginger contains Gingerol

Ginger contains gingerol in high amounts. Gingerol is a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. (2)

    4. Oranges are full of vitamins and minerals.

Oranges contain thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, selenium and copper.

Because of their high vitamin C content, which is over twice the daily need, oranges are associated with boosting the immune system.

How is Juicing Better Than Eating the Veggies?

While all the ingredients found in this Carrot Superfood Juicing Recipe are good for you, once juiced, they pack a really powerful nutritional punch.

Juicing removes the fiber from the juice and this allows your body to more easily absorb the nutrients found in the juice. Think of it as concentrated nutrition.

    Other Superfood Suggestions

As with all carrot recipes, the possibilities are endless when it comes to the variety of produce that can be added.

Here are a few other superfoods to consider adding to this recipe:

    • 1 bunch kale
    • ½ bunch parsley
    • 1 -2 beets with greens

Do I Need to Peel the Ginger or Turmeric?

Peeling the ginger or turmeric will really depend upon the type of juicer you have and use.

I do not need to peel it with my Breville Juice Fountain Duo. So, check your owner's manual or just give it a try!

Is There a Certain Order the Ingredients Should Go Through the Juicer?

There is no special order when it comes to juicing. I tend to divide the carrots up and juice carrots after each of the other ingredients.

So, I start with a few carrots and then do the fruit. More carrots and then the turmeric and ginger. Finally, I finish with carrots.

Just give it a try and see what works best for your juicer.

Can I Add More Turmeric or Ginger?

Definitely, you can add more of any of the ingredients. The amount listed in the recipe for these two roots is a good place to start if you are not used to having them.

Turmeric and ginger can be a bit strong in flavor if you are not used to them. But, by all means, get even more health benefits by adding more if you can!

Your gut health plays a central role in nutrient absorption, and affects all other systems in your body. The bacterial cultures in your intestines are an often overlooked and neglected part of the average diet.

Known as the "second brain", your gut has more than 100 million neurons, and needs to be nourished.

You'll find recipes here that focus on prebiotic ingredients, whole vegetables, and probiotics like kefir, sauerkraut and cheese.
