Faithfulness of God verses are what this month's scripture writing is focusing on! Are you looking for a way to study the Bible that can take as long or as little time as you would like to spend on it? It is time for you to try Scripture Writing!
Isn't it amazing that even though we, as humans are so often unfaithful, and yet God remains faithful? I am so glad He is!
I have been telling you for several months about my new way of Bible study which is scripture writing. And, yes, I am still using the Bible Reading plan from the Daily Life Planner.
And, you can too - just jump in with today's date and start. A year from now, you will have read through the Bible.
Easy to Use
That is what I love about both the reading plan and the scripture writing - if you miss a day or two, just pick up where you are and keep going.
You can even start in the middle of the month - just pick up with the verses of the day that correspond to the day of the month. You can't get much easier than that!
Each month in our scripture writing verses we have been looking at different themes. For April, the focus is the faithfulness of God verses.
You get the verses of the month and lined pages to print.
There are 2 options for printing the lined pages - a full size for use with regular 3 ring binders and half page that can be used with smaller sized notebooks - 2 pages are printed per page.
Again, the half page lined printable prints two to a page so you can cut them in half and use in a smaller 3 ring binder notebook. You can see the small notebook I use here.
Get 1 Full Year of Scripture Writing!
You may find it more convenient to have 1 FULL YEAR of Scripture Writing Prompts. Both sets have 43 pages with different verses for each month: Binder Vol. 1 and Binder Vol 2.
You also receive a cover and 3 size options for spines to use with your binder. As a bonus, with each set, you also receive a Prayer List and two different Bible reading plans.
Be sure to print enough of the lined paper for the whole month. I love having pretty paper to write on!
As I said earlier, the focus for April is on the faithfulness of God verses.
My goal each month with the scripture writing is to help you live the life God has intended you to live, the way you are to live it. Focusing on God's faithfulness reminds us of all He has done for us even though we do not deserve it.
He is faithful even when we are not!
Questions about Scripture Writing
What is It?
Scripture Writing is just as the name suggests - you write scripture verses each day. You can use a notebook, a journal, or you can print the lined pages that go along with the Scripture Writing printable. There is also a question at the bottom about how to apply the verses to your life.
Write, meditate, pray through the verses. Then be sure to journal your thoughts, what you learn or what impressed you through the passage. You can spend as long or as short an amount of time as you have. The goal is to get in the Word!
How Long Does Write the Word Scripture Writing Take?
Each day takes no longer than 10 minutes - but you can spend as long as you want on them.
As a busy woman/mom, I know it can be so difficult to find the time to get alone with God and His word.
Sometimes it seems that just as you sit down to study or read, you are needed, or there is an interruption or a phone call or...fill in the blank for your life.
Scripture writing is designed to get you into the scripture for a few minutes, giving you a chance to let a verse or two (or three) find their way into your heart so the Spirit of God can minister to you as you go throughout your day.
Remember, as Christians, we each have a special purpose. To fulfill that purpose, we need refreshment from God and we can get that by being in His word.
Since our youngest is now 9 yrs old, I have more time than I used to have. But, I remember feeling like I was the queen of rocket praying. You know, the quick prayers you shoot up as you do dishes or are changing diapers.
It is amazing how just a few minutes like rocket praying can make such a difference in attitude. The same is true for anytime spent is scripture!
When Should I Write the Word?
It is completely up to you when you do your scripture writing.
I find that early morning is the best time, before everyone else is awake. The house is quiet and I am not distracted. That also means, that I have to get to bed at a descent hour the night before - I'm working on this one and it is one of my New Year's Goals!
Benefits of Scripture Writing
1. It gets you in God's Word.
The obvious benefit of scripture writing is that you are in God's Word.
Do you have a regular quiet time but sometimes just feel as though you are just going through the motions to check it off? I know I do!
With scripture writing, the time commitment is very small - that makes it manageable. If we are honest, who doesn't have 10 minutes that could be used writing scripture?
But, don't be fooled. Even 10 minutes in the Bible can equip you mightily as you go about your daily routine. And, if you have longer, then by all means keep at it.
It is amazing to me how one verse triggers another and another!
2. Greater engagement
By actually writing the passage of the day you are using more of your senses which engages your mind (and hopefully your heart) to a greater extent.
The mechanics of writing has helped keep me focused. This means that I don't finish reading, get up and wonder what I just read.
Do you ever do that?
3. Helps with Memorization
I don't know about you, but to memorize verses, I write them over and over. That is why I love scripture writing because it helps me memorize verses and I can say them to myself throughout the day.
4. Letter Practicing
If you are into lettering, this is a great way to practice! Even children can use scripture as handwriting practice and older ones can learn something different too with new lettering methods.
