Pumpkins mean Fall is here! While Pumpkin Butter seasoned with cinnamon and allspice is traditionally a seasonal treat, made in the Instant pot it is great anytime of the year.

Using canned pumpkin, this pumpkin butter recipe is easy peasy. The Instant pot makes it super quick too.

If you are new to Instant pot cooking, let me just say you are gonna L-O-V-E it! I use the 8 qt Instant pot and while it is the larger size, I can cook as little as 1 cup of rice in it!

I'm telling you, this appliance can take the place of several others - you can make yogurt in it, cook rice in it, use it as a crockpot - it is multifunctional!

Don't have an Instant Pot? Don't worry, you can still make this in the crock pot - the instructions are given in the recipe.

Instant Pot Pumpkin Butter Step by Step

You really cannot get much easier than this pumpkin butter recipe. So, rather than bore you with a lot of adding one ingredient at a time photos, here is a quick look at the steps and the ingredients in the Instant Pot pictured below.

    1. Add all ingredients to your Instant Pot and stir.
    2. Place the lid on and close the valve to seal.
    3. Set Instant pot to manual for 5 minutes.
    4. Allow the pressure to release naturally.

How Can Pumpkin Butter be Stored?

    • Frozen - Keeps frozen for at least 3 months - that is the longest I have kept it.
    • Refrigerated - Keeps in the fridge for 2 - 3 weeks
    • Canned - Home canning is not recommended for pumpkin butter, mashed or pureed pumpkin according to PumpkinPatchesandMore.org

    How to Use Pumpkin Butter

    • Spread on bread, toast, muffins, biscuits, pancakes bagels
    • Add as a topping for granola
    • Serve with cottage cheese
    • Use as a dip with crackers and pretzels - think sweet & salty
    • Use in place of jelly with nut butter for sandwiches
    • Serve over ice cream or yogurt
    • Generously spoon over a block of cream cheese and serve with crackers for a festive appetizer
    • Add a spoon (or two) along with cream to coffee for a delicious pumpkin latte

    Can Fresh Pumpkin be Used?

Yes, in fact, the flavor is even better but it does take more time.
