This homemade easy chocolate cake recipe is both easy and delicious to eat. The Lazy Woman's Chocolate Cake recipe uses only one bowl thereby minimizing mess. And, if you are looking for an egg free cake this is for you!

Easy Chocolate Cake - Egg Free Cake shown iced and ready to eat

Chocolate  cake was easy to find when we lived in Switzerland. The problem was that most European cakes tend to be drier than American cakes (like this rich and moist Chocolate Candy Bar Cake recipe) - this held true for chocolate cake too!

Enter the Lazy Chocolate Cake recipe which is also an egg free cake!

And, as you have probably already guessed, the Lazy Chocolate Cake recipe minimizes the mess made when mixing by using only one bowl!

It is definitely for those of us who are not necessarily lazy (at least I will not admit publicly to it!) but who are efficient!

    Top tips

    • Wet ingredients can be added right to the bowl of dry ingredients if desired. I like to mix them in a 4 cup measuring cup and pour in all at once.
    • A whisk or electric beater may be used.
    • Try adding different flavoring such as orange zest or fresh orange juice
    • Sprinkle the top with white, milk or dark chocolate chips

you may not know the answer to my question, but you may.

is this cake American USA sweet, or is it middle Europe (like Germany) kind of sweet?

USA likes their cakes and pastries much sweeter then the Germany or Czech Republic. I don't know where Switzerland falls. Russia is more like USA, funnily enough.

I'm about to try to bake this without tasting it along the way until the birthday party. It may not be humanly possible anyhow.

Katya, it is more like USA sweet but not as sweet as American boxed cakes. Definitely sweeter than German and Swiss desserts.
